Artist spotlight and GIVEAWAY!!!!

Something I will touch on a lot is my love of luminaries. A few years back I found myself discouraged that despite never actively paying attention to the Kardashians, I can name every single one and tell you more than I want to know about them. I realized I couldn't name a single artist, scientist, or anyone doing significant work. I made it my mission to find living inspirations. Having an artist's heart I tend to focus on artists.

So my first write up is my friend Heidi. We met in high school and had a conversation about our favorite boy band members. We found out we liked the same ones and it all started there. We share a birthday, similar upbringings, the same curly hair, bra size, thirst for knowledge and love of beauty. We are basically the same person. Another similarity is we both love yarn work. I'm more of a hobby knitter where Heidi is a master crocheter.

Heidi is my first living artist and believe me she is an actual artist! I am always astonished by what beautiful pieces she can make with a hook and some yarn! Aside from being an artist Heidi is a mother and homeschooler of three beautiful children. There are many more pictures of Heidi's work on her FB page but here are just a couple pieces that inspire me.

A loving tribute Heidi made for a local  fallen officer and his canine partner.

                                                                       This gorgeous Wayuu Mochila bag!

And one of my favorite characters of all time, Harley Quinn! My favorite pair of Lularoe leggings are                                      the red stripes and polka dots because they remind me of her classic jester costume!

**GIVEAWAY** Heidi has on her page https://www.facebook.com/HeidisLittleCreations/posts/1730893253886645
Be sure to like her page and comment on her post with your least favorite thing about the holiday season and you can win your choice from a beanie, messy bun hat, scarf, fingerless gloves or a set of dishcloths.

I highly recommend the dishcloths! Heidi makes these amazing dishcloths that are scrubby to take off all the tougher bits but are gentle enough for non stick pans! Think Scrub Daddy but washable, economical and won't fall apart after two sinkfuls of dishes!

So that is my first artist spotlight. Hopefully you enjoyed it because there will be more to come. Feel free to comment and tell me someone who inspires you and deserves more recognition! Maybe I will do a spotlight on them! I'm especially looking for living scientists because I only know of Bill Nye.

Colonial Candles BOGO

Colonial candles is having a BOGO sale right now!  Spend $75 get free shipping! I really love the candles that I bought during their last sale! They are from the spiderweb collection. I got Graveyard Fog and Jack O Lantern. Graveyard Fog's appearance is what made me buy them. It’s so spooky! The smell is not what you’d think for a graveyard but it’s a pleasant smell. When I got the box it overwhelmingly smelled of licorice and I thought I wouldn’t like the candle but when o opened it it was nice. The pumpkin smells like a pumpkin patch. I’m super sensitive to cinnamon scents so I was worried because I had to return all my Bath and Body Works candles because the cinnamon scent was choking me. Colonial Candle has a really cute Autumn collection too!

Yonique Fiber Lash dupe

I was not blessed with much for eyelashes. You have squint really hard to see them. I've also worked as a mua and have been around the block with mascara. I've never really found any that work great. It's all the same stuff. Just makes your eyelashes black and adds a tiny bit of volume if you apply enough coats. I have to wear fake lashes if I want my look to come together. In beauty school I learned how to place on individual lashes and can make mine look pretty convincing.
Yonique was something I was recommended but $25 is steep for mascara. I've paid more but didn't love them and Yonique is not kit worthy. I can't even imagine how you could use that on a client, sanitation wise. So I was perusing Walgreens and found a fiber lash by Wet n Wild. Buy one get one half off. Plus I snagged a $2 off coupon off of a foundation.
Also if you don't have your Halloween costume ready yet or don't know what you want to be go to Wet n Wild website and pick out so…
